What kind of interpreting do you need?
What is Interpreting?
Interpreting is the process of converting spoken or signed language from a source language into a target language, enabling communication between individuals who do not share a common language. Unlike translation, which deals with written text, interpreting occurs in real-time and requires a high level of skill and concentration. Qualified interpreters bridge language barriers by listening to the speaker, comprehending the message, and accurately conveying it in the target language, all while maintaining the context, tone, and nuances of the original message.
Our interpreting services are designed to facilitate seamless communication across various industries and settings, whether it’s for business meetings, legal proceedings, medical consultations, or international conferences. With interpreters working in over 80 languages, we ensure that your message is clearly and accurately understood by all parties involved.

Types of Interpreting Services
- Simultaneous Interpreting
In simultaneous interpreting, the interpreter listens to the speaker in the source language and simultaneously conveys the message in the target language. This method is commonly used in conferences, seminars, and large-scale events, where real-time communication is essential. Qualified interpreters working in this mode need excellent multitasking skills and deep expertise in the subject matter to ensure accuracy. - Consecutive Interpreting
Consecutive interpreting involves the interpreter listening to a segment of speech in the source language, then delivering the interpretation in the target language once the speaker has paused. This is typically used in smaller settings, such as meetings, interviews, or court hearings. The pause between speaking allows the interpreter to convey the message with precision and clarity. - Telephone and Video Remote Interpreting
With the increasing need for remote communication, telephone and video remote interpreting have become essential. Our interpreting services include these flexible solutions, where qualified interpreters work remotely to provide real-time language support, ensuring smooth communication across borders and time zones.
Specialized Interpreting Services
Medical Interpreting
Medical interpreting is crucial in healthcare settings, where clear and accurate communication can be a matter of life and death. Our qualified interpreters work with healthcare providers to ensure that patients who speak different languages understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and care plans. They are familiar with medical terminology in both the source language and the target language, providing precise and culturally sensitive interpretations.
Legal Interpreting
Legal interpreting requires a deep understanding of legal terminology and procedures. Whether it’s court hearings, depositions, or legal consultations, our legal interpreters ensure that all parties fully understand the proceedings, regardless of their language. Accuracy is paramount in legal interpreting, and our team has the expertise to navigate complex legal language while maintaining confidentiality and impartiality.
Technical Interpreting
In highly technical industries, such as engineering, IT, and manufacturing, interpreting requires not only language skills but also a firm grasp of technical jargon. Our technical interpreters are well-versed in these industries, ensuring that complex concepts and specialized terms are accurately communicated in both the source language and the target language.
Financial and Economic Interpreting
When it comes to financial negotiations, economic discussions, or corporate meetings, precise communication is key. Our economy and financial interpreters have the expertise to handle complex financial terminology, ensuring smooth communication in critical business contexts.
Government and Diplomatic Interpreting
Our interpreters also work in government settings, facilitating communication between officials, diplomats, and international organizations. Whether it’s high-level political discussions or public service interactions, our team ensures that all parties can communicate clearly and effectively.
Scientific Interpreting
For scientific conferences, research presentations, and academic discussions, accurate interpreting is essential to ensure that complex scientific concepts are communicated clearly. Our scientific interpreters have the expertise to handle specialized terminology in fields such as biology, chemistry, physics, and other sciences, enabling smooth communication between researchers and experts from different language backgrounds.
Why is Interpreting Important?
Interpreting plays a crucial role in bridging language barriers and enabling clear communication across different cultures and languages. In today’s globalized world, where businesses, governments, and individuals interact on an international scale, the ability to communicate accurately and in real-time is essential. Here’s why interpreting is so important:
Facilitating Global Business
In international business settings, effective communication is key to building partnerships, closing deals, and navigating complex negotiations. Qualified interpreters ensure that all parties fully understand the terms, conditions, and nuances, reducing the risk of misunderstandings and fostering successful business relationships.
Ensuring Access to Essential Services
In critical sectors such as healthcare, law, and public services, interpreting ensures that everyone, regardless of their language proficiency, has access to the information they need. Interpreting services enable patients to communicate with medical professionals, ensure fair treatment in legal proceedings, and allow individuals to access government services. This promotes equity and inclusiveness in society.
Enhancing Diplomatic and International Relations
For governments, NGOs, and international organizations, interpreting is vital for maintaining diplomatic relations, conducting negotiations, and participating in global forums. Interpreters working in these settings help convey messages accurately and diplomatically, ensuring that cultural nuances and sensitive topics are handled appropriately.
Supporting Multilingual Events and Conferences
Conferences, seminars, and multinational meetings often involve participants from diverse linguistic backgrounds. Professional interpreting allows all attendees to engage actively in discussions, regardless of their native language. This promotes a more inclusive environment and ensures that important information is conveyed accurately and consistently.
Breaking Down Cultural Barriers
Effective interpreting goes beyond simply translating words; it captures the cultural context, tone, and meaning behind the message. By doing so, interpreters help to break down cultural barriers, fostering mutual understanding and respect between people from different backgrounds.
Protecting Legal Rights
In legal settings, the importance of interpreting cannot be overstated. Legal interpreting ensures that non-native speakers fully understand their rights, the proceedings, and any legal consequences they may face. This is essential for ensuring fair and just legal outcomes, as well as upholding the principle of equal access to justice.

FAQs
The purpose of interpreting is to enable accurate in-person, online, or over-the-phone understanding between individuals or groups who speak different languages. This is done through oral translation by trained interpreters.
Several interpreting techniques are available. We have interpreters trained in simultaneous, consecutive, whispered, relay, and liaison/personal (such as escort, ad hoc, administrative, or tutor). We can help you decide which style is best for your needs.
These styles are used for different interpreting situations: virtual meeting moderation, conferences, business meetings, courtroom events, remote, OPI, teleconferences, and interpersonal communication.
Yes, there are clear benefits to working repeatedly with the same interpreter. If you are satisfied with a specific interpreter and they are availabe for your next event, we are more than happy to assign them to your job.
This depends on what your requirements are and the agreement we have made ahead of time. If you feel you need an interpreter for a specific timeframe, we’ll make sure they are 100% available for that time.

Simultaneous interpreting, as the name suggests, is when both the original language and the target language are delivered at approximately the same time. This interpreting mode is often used at formal events with presentations, speakers, and a multilingual audience.
Consecutive translation is commonly used in smaller groups, when the content is more discussion-like and less formal. The speaker pauses after a couple of sentences to allow the interpreter to translate his/her words orally into a target language.
In response to our clients‘ needs, our remote interpreting services and our viritual moderator services have grown a lot during these years of COVID-19 restrictions and concerns. Live, on-site interpreting is still available, of course, when and where COVID conditions allow. COVID-related restrictions have meant we’ve turned frequently to over-the-phone Interpreting (OPI), tele-conferencing, and other long-distance interpreting options.
The positive aspect to this is that our long-distance interpreting equipment, human resources, and processes are even higher quality than they were in the past and broadly available.
