This year the Meet Central Europe Conference will be held October 12-14 in Slovakia. Skrivanek’s Global Sales Manager, Jaroslava Ouzka, will be one of the key speakers at this event for the translation industry. She will share some of the insights she’s gleaned about remote interpreting, from how to ensure it runs smoothly to just how badly things can go if you don’t. While this language service has become more important to businesses of all kinds since Covid-19 shutdowns, it does have its risks. Jaroslava will share how to prepare for those, along with her thoughts about other challenges, and the best tools, training, and instructions to provide to make sure everyone involved has a great experience.
The MCE conference offers a full schedule of informative talks about the LSP business, from acquisition of linguists, to boosting employee satisfaction, to a Ukrainian perspective on the war there. The conference includes a jobs fair and exhibitors. Plenty of opportunities to network and socialize are also built in to the schedule, and the special venue – the X-Bionic Sphere Samorin near Bratislava – provides beautiful spaces for a variety of activities.
The MCE Conference is co-organized annually since 2017 by the four founding associations: The Association of Austrian Translation Companies (AATC), the Association of Czech Translation Agencies (ACTA), the Hungarian Association of Professional Language Service Providers (Proford), and the Association of Translation Companies of Slovakia (ATCSK).
